Dynacorn Cougar resto sheetmetal

#1

Post by Wallgeye »

I thought everyone here might be interested in this. I emailed Dynacorn this morning pleading them to get into the classic Cougar sheet metal market.

I got this reply shortly after:

"We are currently working on getting the tooling built for much of the cougar products. Quarters, roofs, hoods, trunk lids, and wheel houses just to name a few. Give us a year or two and we will have it. Thank you"

Yay!!!!

That would be terrific! I believe Don at WCCC sent them a body to use as reference years ago.

Yeah, years, I delivered that 1968 Cougar to Dynacorn in '06 or '07.

Yes, many fantastic Cougar restoration parts are coming.

So too is the end of each of our lives from living them out to their inevitable conclusion...

I'm pretty sure the OLD Sherman and assoc. catalog from the mid 80s listed metal for 67-68, 69, and 70. If that IS the case then at some time we could get them, and they were either discontinued or the quality was poor. I'll have to look when I get home from work. At the time I was looking for '69 satellite quarters.

Probably the "suggestion" of what a quarter should look like made by Tabco. Those were once available for 69/70 and were again recently although I don't think they were any better. Isabel has 1/2 of a Tabco quarter on each side (cut in in different ways). I had to work VERY HARD to make them fit and look like OEM.

This is what they said in 2007 when we dropped off a Cougar...

"We are currently working on getting the tooling built for much of the cougar products. Quarters, roofs, hoods, trunk lids, and wheel houses just to name a few. Give us a year or two and we will have it. Thank you"
