GT-E Introductory Show Car 500033

The GT-E was only available for a few brief months in 1968. Total production would not have kept the assembly line busy for more than a half day. If you know anything about a GT-E, it is important, and this is the place to share it. The GT-E registry is maintained by Jim Pinkerton.

You have no idea. Couldn’t have done it without some help from you and a few others. Damn thing keeps fighting me right to the end. The brand new SFI flex plate I paid $300 for refused to play nice and wouldn’t quite work. Ever so slightly smaller than stock. Of course it was bolted on so no returns. Right now it has an old worn out one from a 390 just to get it running.

Run in and tuning completed. For now anyway, still need to tinker with a few things like the thermactor parts. The quality issues with simple replacement parts amaze me, the brand new thermostat I bought did not function.

The thermostat quality issue is a big problem , since we don’t drive them in the snow anymore and getting the engine up to temp usually isn’t a problem has any one tried a brass plate with a fixed hole size

Wow, that's awesome :-) Glad it is progressing, despite occasional set backs. What would life be without those setbacks? Wasn't there something in the Matrix about that? They tried an easy, cushy program the first time and the humans didn't like it ~ lost the whole crop, or some such? LOL!

I feel your pain on the temp sending unit - aftermarket ones suck. Reading too high, reading too low, reading not what the damn temperature is remotely close to >.< Thankfully "NOS" and "good used" are still relatively easy to find and fairly inexpensive still.
