9 Cougars now up for sale

Post by SligoKYcougars » 08 Mar 2018, 15:34

I am brand-new to this board. I have the unfortunate responsibility of liquidating a decades-long collection of 1969 and 1970 Mercury Cougars that were the pride and joy of my recently deceased younger cousin.
Since I am new, if this post is inappropriate, or needs to be moved to a different thread on the message board, I am hoping that someone will direct me in that matter.
When it does become appropriate, I will post VIN and photos of the subject vehicles. I will tease readers just a bit, by stating that there is definitely one ELIMINATOR with a sun roof, and a second ELIMINATOR that is Lemon Yellow.

Put in your location and price when you start listing the details. VIn number and door data plate information will help as well if you don’t have Marti reports.

Location is near Louisville KY, in a very, VERY small town of Sligo, KY, on US Hwy 42.
It is just us, the Baptist church, the graveyard and some noisy neighbors.
Some of the autos run, others are in various stages of repair or disrepair.
My direct e-mail is burrowswrecker@aol.com.
Thanks, Brian.

Noisy neighbors from the graveyard???!!! That can't be good.

Your cars with the "G" in VIN will attract some attention... good luck with finding new homes for all the cars.

So, .............. if a "G" in the VIN attracts attention, should I get out my number stencils and hammer on the door panels and the VIN tag?

BTW, this car 9F91G567976 too is an eliminator as that was the only way you could order a BOSS 302.

The "G" means that the car came from the factory with the BOSS 302 engine. It also means they are Eliminators, since the BOSS 302 was only available with Eliminator package. The "H" code cars came with the standard 351 engine with 2 barrel carb - still good cars, just not as rare/desirable. The "M" is 351 with 4 bbl carb - an upgrade.

Brian, sorry to hear about your cousin. It sounds like he was quite the Cougar enthusiast. He sure has some rare stuff in his collection.
I've sent an email requesting information and pics, on behalf of the Cougar Club of America and the Eliminator Registry.

Thank you,

Mike B.
