Vent window ?

I have to reinstall my handle onto my vent window. After looking at the stub sticking out I want to make sure that it is not broken. Is it supposed to have a half round with the the flat side or is that broken off? Thanks

yes

Just wondering if the stub is supposed to be half round with a flat side.

Yes.

Looks broken to me. Where is the drive pin that holds the handle on going to go.

There’s a detent close to the glass. Sort of like where you would put an “O” ring if it were to go there, which is does not.
You need to push the handle on as far as it will go with the spring washer between, then put the pin in and tap it flush.
I replaced and rebuilt my vent windows on my Saxony Yellow 68 XR-7 recently.

Thanks I will try that!

Oh but to add something constructive, the repro 68 vent window handles differ in that they have plastic tips, as you probably noticed. The good thing about this is that they won’t scratch your frames like the originals did. But, it’s a different look. Worth keeping in mind if originality is important. Looks like WCCC doesn’t have used handles listed as of now, they’re usually pitted to some extent. But I’d think that some good used ones could be scrounged up if needed.
