Interesting wiring connection

Post by Trixie » 03 May 2019, 14:30

Hey folks,
This isn't from any cougar, it's actually from my 1986 LeSharo Motorhome. I have never seen this type of splice before only to splice 3 wires together but, I guess whatever works. Also notice that this connection, a lamp to illuminate a external gauge, has 7 different types of splices to make this work.
I'm taking this gauge out, so it is not a big deal, but please, think before you do something like this. It makes trouble shooting problems very difficult and time consuming.

Wire nuts should never be used in any car, truck or motor home. They will come loose and cause problems, like open circuits to short circuits. Open being less dangerous, short being where fires start.

Motorhome is all you had to say! I have seen the most hack jobs on RVs and motorhomes!
