The 1969 Cougar 50th show in Auburn Indiana is only a month away! If you haven’t bought your dinner tickets yet don’t delay any longer. We will be shutting down the dinner tickets on June 7 to give the caterer the final number of guests. You can buy the dinner tickets online at: https://www.catsccc.com/2019-events CATS has the cruise route for Friday June 21 all planned. We originally were planning on going to the covered bridge and pictures. But, the bridge and park is closed down and no repairs or plan to re-open. So, we had to change plans a little. We will be leaving the host hotel and cruising to the Windmill museum for our first stop. https://www.midamericawindmillmuseum.org/ Cost to enter the museum for cruise participants is $4.00 a person, or you can hang out in the parking lot if you’re not interested in going in the museum. After spending some time at the museum we will continue on to Shipshewana where we will be greeted by the chamber of commerce with a welcome packet. This will be our lunch destination and you can enjoy the local shops. The return trip will be up to you. We can meet in smaller groups to return or return on your own. That way you’re not rushed to leave and can pick your own return route. All parking lots are large and open with plenty of room. The route is paved country back roads with not much traffic. You have to be mindful of the Amish traveling the roads. You can view the map and instructions here: https://www.catsccc.com/2019-events go to Friday cruise map & instructions.
Don’t forget our Friday evening “summer of 69” themed party at the host hotel. Also for those of you that will be in Auburn Thursday evening. They’re having a local cruise in downtown Auburn that evening you can participate in. https://dekalbchamberpartnership.com/events/cruise-ins

Bring out you Cougar and I’ll see you in Auburn.

Hello All,

Thought I would expound upon Brian's cruise discussion.

When setting up the Friday cruise and finding the covered bridge, and adjacent park, closed, I found the Windmill Museum. It is on the route and I was skeptical. But I went in to see what they had and was surprised at the interest it created in me. I have never been up close to these windmills which are of the farm variety. It is interesting to see how they work and is a short walk through there. There are photo opportunities inside where you can take your cougar in by the outdoor windmills. The parking lot is huge and those not wanting to go in can chill as Brian noted (bring your Frisbee or hakie sack). We will be about an hour.

Shipshewana has photo opportunities as well and is our lunch destination. The welcome packet does have some generous coupons for lunch and shopping as well. We are allowing a leisure return so everyone can have their time in Shipshewana as needed. Upon our return in the evening we have the 69 themed party........... Dude.

Hope to see you in Auburn!

My wife and I are very dissapointed that we won't be able to attend this event. Her health woes have been a burden on us this year. Anyway, we are proud to help sponsor this showing and hope all that attend have a spectacular time. Save us a key chain.
