engine compartment paint detail

Post by alanstrohbehn » 15 Feb 2018, 15:58

Beginning to restore the engine compartment of my 69' 428 cougar and wondering if the steel plate reinforcing the shock towers should be same semi-flat sheen or chassis black since they're actually part of the frame. Thanks for your help!

Yes, if you are talking about the lower wrap around pieces as they are apart of the shock tower.

Thanks for the welcome replies and for the advice! This forum is exactly what I was hoping to find to help with questions during the final push of restoration, ya'll will probably get sick of reading my posts by the time it's all over. I'll get some pics this weekend, it's damn cold here in MN so won't be able to roll it outside quite yet.
