Intellitronics Gauges and Carbon Fiber Dash

Post by Restomodcougar » 07 Mar 2018, 01:43

Just took on a new project of installing an Intellitronics Create A Dash kit into a new carbon fiber dash face. Pretty impressive kit for the price so far if you like fab work.

Here are some pictures so far of the progress. Sorry I have no idea why these uploaded sideways and upside down.

So got the last 2 gauges mounted to the backing board and power and grounds routed to the distribution block I mounted on back.

Did the carbon fiber face come from Intellitronics, as well?

Yup, that guy, the hooligan.

Somewhere out there is a tree, tirelessly producing oxygen so you can breathe. I think you owe it an apology.

If I remember from previous a thread the carbon fiber dash cluster was fairly expensive. Is that the case for you or is your carbon fiber dash and Intellitronics digital instruments a total kit? I’m sure some members might consider this type upgrade if they know the website links.

PS. I like the look of your project so far.

You are right! The dash kit was not cheap and it came from classicdash.com. I made my own for the blue Cougar in my signature and for the amount of work, time, and having to bastardize an XR7 dash that I could of sold on EBay for some good money, I figured it was worth buying one this time already made.

The gauges I got $100 off from what they are usually and got them on Ebay though their EBay store. I got a bonus at work and figured I'd use some of that to treat myself in this project.

They are the Intellitronix Create-A-Dash kit that comes with a sheet of the black backing and tinted lexan that you cut to fit your dash and also comes with all the temp, water and Speedo senders. The kit was $280 USD and I have also seen the full 5 piece standard gauge set in bezels for as low as $320 USD on there. Figured it was a steal of a price for them when comparing to the others or even buying a full set of Autometer gauges would of cost me almost $1000 so this was worth a try.

Ive seen the classic dash kits but had reservations on how well they will fit and function so very curious how this turns out. I also like the ability to have add more gauges of your choice.
