Two more 68 Convertibles have surfaced

#1

Post by CatVert68 » 07 Aug 2018, 11:43

For those interested, I just added two more newly discovered 1968 Cougar convertible conversions on my web page. Here's the link:

http://catvert68.com/cougars/1967-1968- ... nversions/

They are about halfway down the page. If anyone knows more about these cars than what the owners provided on Facebook, feel free to send it along and I will flesh out the descriptions a bit more.

That green and white one is sharp, IMO.

Yup, that guy, the hooligan.

Somewhere out there is a tree, tirelessly producing oxygen so you can breathe. I think you owe it an apology.

It is, and the mechanical upgrades must make it fun to drive. It makes me miss CatVert all the more.

Thanks, Brian! I'm going to steal that picture, if you don't mind.

The Lucas Hovis Green and White one at the bottom was recently bought by a fellow who showed it on a Cougar Facebook group. He paid a lot for it, and said the construction bill was over 80K. And that was quite a few years ago, I imagine? I believe it!

That's a great page, thanks for sharing :)

Brian, Lucas is the FB guy and he acquired that Cougar as a finished car. He is also the one who purchased BBCat from me and subsequently sold it on to a friend of Gry in Norway. After that sale he expressed interest in CatVert if the current owner was willing to sell. He'd also expressed interest in B3Cat. So he was in the market for a Cougar like that and was prepared to pay for the right car.

I have about 30 pictures of Rex's roadster I took at the 2005 Nationals in Dallas. They were taken with a 36MM SLR and I had the film put on disc so they are not as sharp as today's cellphone pictures, but you are welcome to them if you want.
I have some of Eric's models with the car, Rex's photo album showing the build, and the usual interior, engine, exterior shots.

I'd like to have those pictures. You can send them to me at b3cat68 "at" outlook.com. Thanks!

I know he had it up for sale at one point. Does he still own it?
