One for Don Rush or does anyone else have info on these?

Post by Restomodcougar » 16 Feb 2018, 13:29

Just bought a 68 and these were in the trunk with a bunch of other stuff. They look to be racing belts with Team Cougar embroidered on them. I know the racing history of the maker and he was involved with Dan Gurney, Jones and did drive one of the cars once for Team Cougar.

Trying to find more info on these and what they are worth and are they real.

Sorry Photobucket no longer let's us post pics so here are the links to them.

They look real to me! If they are they would be worth a lot of money... I would like to have them just to put on display.

Hey I may need some stuff for my new 68 project so if you want to work a deal for a credit I am interested. Note that I only have the one side as old owner said they only needed the one for the drivers seat in the Team cars.

Found a couple of XR7-G emblems too and a small gold cat emblem about the size of the one that goes in the trunk lock and a Shelby GT350 wheel that is maybe a repop.

It looks like a close relative of this Shelby accessory from the same period

If reproductions are going for $800 on Ebay, what are originals worth?

Probably whatever someone is willing to pay.

Sweet! Send them in and we will reward you handsomely in in store credit and if we do not come to terms on all parts return postage is on me. One seat belt is enough to make a great conversation piece in our little show room.

Let me get my list together this weekend and I'll send them in and you let me know. :D

That is a very cool belt!

Certainly looks authentic.

I'd say they are the real McCoy, Ray Brown was THE supplier of belts, have the correct patina too, meaning the clasp, and the dirty belt webbing
