One of those weeks

#1

Post by Pat86004 » 15 Jan 2018, 13:33

So I just got a set of forged pistons for the 390 I'm building to drop into my car, and paid off the machine shop. Then this morning, a buddy of mine sends me a link to a Craigslist ad remand says "aren't these the wheels you want"......And yes, yes they are, and here I am trying to come up with the money. I'm considering a 2 week ramen cleanse diet to get it done. Why the heck does stuff like this have to happen all at once?

Glad it's not just me that it happens to :-)

"Why yes, I do need that part! ...and that one. Crap, better buy that one too cuz they never come up for sale. Uh oh... Um, honey, I know I said I was done buying parts for a while, but this other thing broke, so now I need this part too..."

Since I picked up the 70 "Q" cod Cougar I nave missed "DEALS" on 2 428 CJs by hours... First one was actually a 70 Mercury 428 Police interceptor, But with a few bolts on's it is a CJ. The second one is in a F250 4X4 and was only 4K, I could have put a 360 in that truck and gotten most to all my money back. I need to step up my game...

Luckily, I don't have the wife issue. Just the mortgage.....or unluckily, I'm not sure. I'm listing seemingly everything I own on Craigslist trying to raise the money.

Just happened to me a couple weeks ago as I was in the middle of buying 67 style steel wheels and the correct numbers matching, and good date code Holley carb for my 67 GT pops up on eBay. Only major non original part on the Cougar so I had to drop the hammer and get while the getting was good ;)

The classic car gods have bestowed their blessing upon me! Overpayed a medical bill, and will receive a check for 18$ less than I am paying for my wheels on monday.
