Iconic race driver, team owner and constructor Dan Gurney has died at the age of 86.

Oh my... I was just reading something his son wrote just a few days ago.
My favourite racer of all time.
RIP Mr. Gurney, you will be greatly missed by many.

First Bud Moore and now Dan :( Very sad news. I wonder if he got a working prototype of his "Moment Cancelling" engine he was still working on. Haven't seen anything written about it in awhile.

Several magazines out now with very informative articles on our man Dan.

The May/June 2018 issue of Vintage Motorsport has an article on the Gurney/Westlake engines, intakes and heads where they mention Gurney's desire to use the aluminum heads on a hot street version of the Cougar. The goal being to homologate them for use on the TA Cougars.

I've attached that section of the article below along with the cover of the latest Racer magazine that contains a blurb on Dan's win at Green Valley which Racer included in their list of Dan's top 6 racing victories.
