Sorry for the thread drift, but one of the things I like about that decal is it is of a (rather tortured) GT-E.

You know I would be very interested in a custom G poster based on my cat. E-mail me payment details.
I am really seeing the influence of the two Eds on the 2005 CCOA East National logo.

Yes, that artwork I did for the '05 Nats was my homage to the great Ed Newton!

Ed also designed some pretty wild rods.

I Googled him, quite a lot of stuff and I’ve seen before and others, no doubt, also inspired by Ed.

Google ed "newt" newton and click on images. He did dozens if not hundreds of designs for Roth.

The Roach Coach was also one of Newton's designs, and it used those really deep dish Raders.

Remember when cars were fun? Can you even imagine something like this being built today? I don't think a bunch of phone fixated people will ever be this creative again...

Creations like those often led to new features and options in cars years down the road.
These guys are innovators from another era.

All great points Bill! I don't think that most of today's crowd would give two looks at this creation at a car show, the bathing suit beauty...yes two looks for sure (then back to the smartphone screen). :D

I was digging through my stash of Cougar stuff, and found this certificate. I didn't even remember that I had it - must have come along with the Gurney Cougar decals that I bought from AAR years ago.

Anyway, I know we were discussing the history of that graphic, so I thought I'd post this here.

I have one of the Gurney Cougar decals around here. No doubt in safe keeping with some of the other hens teeth I have found over the years.
