I'll be impressed if it hits 10K. Looks like a fresh paint, no engine bay pic's and the presentation just seems quirky to me. We all know web/tv shots look a lot better than in real life so thats my call on it.

I don't think it's fresh paint. Too many imperfections. Possible some color has been touched up, but it does look like a fresh clear coat over older, maybe original, paint.
It appears it was just washed. I see water drips that look like they came from under the dash on the floor mat. What would that indicate?

Hadn't thought about clear coat, but then again i'm not a painter. I thought water was from wet shoes since it looks like only the floor is wet. Otherwise possible windshield or cowl leak ?

Wisconsin car. I would be looking hard for rust repair in the trunk and underbody before any bidding.

I was close, 9Kish. Didn't see the car as I wasn't there yesterday. Nice looking 71 429 4 spd on the property should have a nice reserve.

I talked with the owner of the 429CJ Cougar today. The color change might hurt it some. I think it will bring some good money. Early build as the vin number ends with 48.

The 73 was a definite repaint as it was originally paint code 3D (medium blue metallic).

the 71 didn't hit the reserve which didn't surprise me, nothing against the car but i don't think the current market will support 71-73 cougars. All in all it seems resto-mods are pulling in more money then a nut and bolt stock restoration from all manufacturers. The 69 was nicely done, but if he actually spent all that money he still lost his butt. JUST a reminder you hardly ever get your spent money back.
