67-68 4 speed console

#1

Post by Socalef9 » 25 Dec 2017, 23:18

Just picked up this manual transmission console for my 1968 std on fleabay. Paid a bit more than i wanted during the holidays, but i figured with the clock, it was not too bad of a deal. Problem is, its for an xr7 and my car is std. If anyone has a standard manual transmission console they wanna trade, i'd be up for it. Color does not matter as i plan to dye it saddle

I've got a Saddle XR-7 4 speed console that I'm going to need to dye black. Want to trade the clock/radio surround and console pad?
I guess that doesn't help you to get the standard version. I guess I could buy it if you want to go that way.

Yeah I would be interested in that. I'll post pictures once I receive it. Is your entire console saddle, or just the pads?

A Sun Super Tach II fits perfectly in that clock space, looks like it belongs there!

Just the pads, so that way we don't need to send the entire console base, etc.
Send me an e-mail and we can talk off list.

Nice ! I was looking to do a rocketman clock dummy conversion, but I might go this route.

I'll contact you as soon as I receive the part. The cheap seller charged 150 for shipping but sent it out USPS parcel post with no tracking number. I don't even think their insurance would cover the value of the console.

Overall that looks like a good buy for the console. The shipping without a tracking number really leaves a lot to be desired. Hopefully everything will arrive safe and sound.

That's not problem, as I'm away for a couple of days anyway.
When I get back I will take pictures of the Saddle 4 speed console pad and radio/clock surround.

Just got the console. Im quite disappointed. Delamination around the entire perimeter of the pad. I'm not sure i would feel comfortable trading it in its' condition
