I took Ginger out for her first cruise in of the year today. I went to the Burger Master in Mount Vernon WA. Usually there are about 45 to 50 cars that show up But is was a slow evening with maybe 25 to 30. We have a couple big shows going on around here this weekend. The Greenwood show in Seattle tomorrow and the Twin City Idlers show near ware I live in Stanwood WA.on Sunday. Here are a few shots of some of the cars I liked.

One thing that made driving my XR7-G unpleasant was the dry rotted leather interior and seat foam (car was in hot climates most of it's life).

There is other interior work that needs doing (dash and headliner) so I will have the seats redone in the correct red leather last.

As a stop gap I found a company online that makes nice seat covers.

http://www.seatcoversunlimited.com

I always liked the way hot rodders would use blankets so I chose a set in an Aztec pattern.

This will do for the time being.

And I hope everyone has a happy and safe 4th!

Today was the July 4 classic car parade here in Pacifica, California. It was a great turnout and we had a fun cruise all over town followed by a nice meet-up in a local strip mall parking lot. Several nice Fords in attendance, including a '69 Mach 1 428 CJ 4 speed, a '67 T5 convertible, and one other Cougar! We had a great time meeting Mel, a fellow Cougar enthusiast with a very nice '68 XR7.

Took my 68 XR7 to Annual Harbor Cruise Point Gratiot Park in Dunkirk, NY on Lake Erie. Beautiful Day with a turnout of 500+ plus cars. Saw two other Cougars both 68's one standard and another XR7. Nice ride to the show and nice event.

Had to go to town (120 miles) today and took the time to run a few errands in the Cougar!!!
I usually plate it on the 1st of may every year...
This year, on may 1st, we still had over a foot of snow. Didn't plate it
On june 1st, we got over 3" of snow...
Plated it on july 1st, and yesterday was my 1st trip to town this month.
Dang those 25 miles felt good! Just corrected tire pressure, and it started right away

Weather was too good not to get her out for a run. It was fun to sit outside and listen to people talk about her while enjoying a cold one.
