68G 428 wanted

Of course you want an Eliminator with a sunroof (well any Cougar really). List it here and cross your fingers!

I contacted Ray and he would not sell the G for any amount and said don't ask again...I though a little rude, but just my thought. I remember seeing his other two Gs about two years ago and they both needed extensive work. I am still looking...I hope I don't need to make a clone from one of my others.
It’s the owners decision to keep or sell but they shouldn’t be rude when someone asks about selling. Keep searching and don’t clone the CJ in your collection it’s special in its own right.

At this stage I don't think that there is a CJ G owner that doesn't have a pretty good idea about what they have. And really we are talking about a pretty small group of people here. It does beg the question: what would it take to get some one to sell? I am thinking it would have to be $150 to $200K. There were something like 37 GT-E CJ cars and only 14 CJ G cars.

Sounds reasonable to me, way less than a Boss 429, so it would be a bargain for a Mustang guy...LOL

Question for Royce or anyone. How many of the 428 Gs had sunroofs, is there a breakdown auto/4speed?

Eleven were built with C-6. three with 4 speed manual.

We only know of four that exist, one of each transmission type has a sunroof.

Two of each. One of the R code four speed cars is cut off behind the doors due to accident and rust damage so it is debatable whether to even call it a car at this point.

One 4 speed R code G that we thought still existed was recently changed to parted and scrapped. We found out it was stolen, wrecked and burned.
