1967 GT For Sale.

Post by dallas121469 » 17 Feb 2018, 20:30

I am posting my 1967 Mercury Cougar GT for sale here before I try my luck on Ebay.

Yes it is a true GT. I have the original window sticker and build sheet as well as paper work for maintenance, emission testing and what not. Some of which dates to the late '70's. I purchased it a couple years ago from a gentleman who had owned it since 1995. He had been driving it until he discovered that the roof under the vinyl had rotted and was allowing water inside. Vinyl roof was removed and there was a half hearted attempt to fix the roof. He covered the car and never got around to restoring/repairing it. It will need a new roof which I have and it will go with the car.

Outer sheet metal is very solid as are the trunk drop downs, rear floors and cowl. Car is very straight without dents or dings. Appears to be the original Cinnamon Frost paint and Paisley Parchment interior. The torque box is solid as are the frame rails both front and rear. Interior is VERY rough. Appears to be the original 390 engine with all the chrome bits intact (air cleaner, valve covers, oil dipstick etc.) AC compressor is still present. Is a console car and options include rear bumper guards, power steering, dash clock, courtesy lights, AC and GT equipment group. I have no reason to believe that the engine or transmission have ever been replaced in this car.

The front floors are intact but soft in the front parts of the pans. May not even need entire pans for repairs. All glass is good. It's been stored in my garage since purchase. Is located in Mountain Home, Idaho.

This car is a California black plate vehicle. I currently only have a few pics on my phone but will gladly send them to anyone that wants them. Please keep in mind that this is a project car but a truly original survivor. I have not even started any restoration so there are no stray parts in boxes or lying on shelves. You get everything that the car orignally came with. I also purchased a COMPLETE Parchment interior set with front and rear seat vinyl, door panels and rear panels in good condition that can be negotiated into the price.

Odometer says 00751 and I believe that it has only rolled one time due to the amount of paperwork that shows the mileage never going over 100k. I'm a realist when it comes to price but since there are not many vehicles out there to compare it to I'm going to put the price at $10k. Likely high but better too high than too low. Can always negotiate down but it's pretty hard to negotiate up. lol

Feel free to ask any questions. I'll try to check my account here every couple days. Thanks. Steve

Somebody let me know if the pics are viewable. Found some very small holes near the drain plugs in the trunk but trunk is otherwise solid.
