They are still trying to meet the ticket sales minimum before they raffle it off. I think end of this month is the deadline, one way or the other though.

Almost-matching-numbers... but not quite there yet!

'69 w/ Boss 302, 4-speed (wide-ratio). Bright Yellow, Black Interior. Docs. In IN for $65k.
http://www.rayskillmanclassiccars.com/U ... d/47168899
9F91G582888

^According to the seller (Ray Skillman Classic Cars), the car still bears the VIN-stamped transmission, but it has a service replacement engine block.

Well, the original VIN-stamped engine block has been found (purchased out of a shed, along with a few SVO Mustangs), and has a recent rebuild.
It was offered to Ray Skillman for $7k, but Ray decided to pass.
Engine details can be found here: http://www.boss302.com/smf/index.php?topic=76152.0

Yes, 9F91G582888 is missing some other rare and expensive parts, but they all bolt on and can be gathered up over time, while selling off the incorrect parts as you go.

Some recent history on 9F91G582888:
May 2014 - Mecum: sold for $52k
https://www.mecum.com/lots/SC0514-18288 ... liminator/

May 2013 - Mecum: bid to $40k (no sale)
https://www.mecum.com/lots/SC0513-15316 ... liminator/

2011 - Restored by Great Cove Restoration of McConnellsburg, PA.

Will you be the one to put this car back to "numbers matching"? And what do you think the value would be for the car and engine, together and seperately?

I currently have this motor 582888 for the Eliminator for sale by Skillman. It will be going in my Boss 302 in the very near future. I have offered it to the dealer but they are not interested.
Kind of sad that the two do not get reunited but once in my car it will be much more expensive to happen.

That’s crazy not to put that car back to numbers matching. I don’t understand some people’s thinking.

I understand they may not want to incur the cost of fully reuniting the block. Not a cheap proposition, and would likely not gain them any profit (i.e. expenses would be about what you would gain in value of the car).

But, they could have at least purchased the block to go with the car and let the new owner decide what to do with it. Considering the car has been available for a year or so now, that MIGHT have helped sell the car. Nobody doesn't love a good "reunited after all these years" story to go along with their classic :-)
