Re: 2012 WCCC Open House / Cruise / BBQ / Show

Video is done! It's not quite as fancy as last year's video but I think there is some better driving footage this time. To me, that's the coolest thing - seeing these cars on the road. If you didn't make it, at least this gives you an idea for what the event is like. Enjoy! Click here to watch video...

Re: Rear leaf Springs

The leaf springs we have at WCCC are made by a company that has Ford's original specs, and believe it or not there are 485 different leaf springs for Cougars 1967-1973. How there can really be that many is beyond me. Anyways check out the full list here: http://www2.cougarpartscatalog.com/suspension...

Re: before and after interior

That looks awesome! What did you use to paint the steering wheel center trim & cat emblem? Also what are your plans for the door panels? I was thinking I would use that same silver paint on the trim piece that goes all the way around (after stripping off the old flaking chrome coating) and then mayb...

Re: The Snowball Saga - '68 Standard Revitalization Project

Well, time for an update. As for the steering wheel pad, I ended up ruining mine by cutting out some of the foam to try to compensate for the shrunken vinyl. In the end, I just grabbed another good used pad (thanks Don) and painted it. It looks good! Will show that eventually when I get to the steer...

RIP Mort Burton (Burton Antique Auto, B&B Reproductions)

Don asked me to post this message about the passing of Mort Burton of Dayton, OH, owner of Burton Antique Auto Parts and partner of B&B Reproductions. He and his company developed the beautiful new stainless steel rocker mouldings for 1969 Cougars (these ones) . A representative from his company rel...

Re: Under Hood Black Paint - Recommendations?

Great, thanks guys. Just the info I was looking for. So from looking around online, the PPG DP90LF is an epoxy primer that you need to mix 2:1 with their DP401LF or DP402LF catalyst (does that mean 2 parts primer to 1 part catalyst or vice-versa?). Does it need any topcoat over it or anything, or ju...

Under Hood Black Paint - Recommendations?

I could have asked this in my project thread but figured this was worthy of its own discussion. I'm getting to the point that I need to paint my engine compartment and am wondering what kind of paint to use. Should I go with a specialty coating like Eastwood's "Under Hood Black" or a more generic ra...

Re: 2012 WCCC Open House / Cruise / BBQ / Show

Pics coming soon! I'm doing the selecting / touching up right now. Video coming eventually! Might not be as fancy as last year's but I got some very cool footage. It was a fun and successful open house! UPDATE: Pictures are up on our Facebook page! Click here to check em out. I see no real need to p...

Re: 2012 WCCC Open House / Cruise / BBQ / Show

Well, it's coming up this weekend! Also, as Don mentioned before, the plans for Friday evening have changed. Brian is unable to host the BBQ this year, so instead we will have a BBQ on-site at WCCC during the afternoon, and then around 5 pm we'll cruise across the Willamette River, down the other si...
