Re: 1968 J code body / no vinyl top / SOLID Western Roller Shell / Project

That would be a good one for the Concours Mustang Forum. Tooling would have been developed in the same place for most parts, very few differences from what I have observed. Service replacement parts show the most noticeable changes such as the 69-70 fenders being visibly stamped HECHO EN MEXICO. The...

Andrew,
Thanks for the Honorable Mention. I'm sure it was hard choosing from all the entries that you had posted earlier.
Love the ship in the background, is that the original color? You should make that your avatar pic!

Re: space saver styled steel spare?

Yes there was, even though it makes no sense... They even sold an instruction decal with a picture of it and a protective cover. Had there been only 4 wheels allocated for those that bought the set of 5 styled steel wheels you would have seen a credit on the factory invoice and I have never seen tha...

Re: speedometer repair/restoration

It will be big money to fix and a good used can be had for very little. We have several but need to test before we put them in inventory. The needle bouncing is the speedo cable. https://secure.cougarpartscatalog.com/store/p/15127-Speedometer-XR7-/-Eliminator-Grade-A-Used-1969-1970-Mercury-Cougar.ht...

At least it was a Mustang so you could call 1-800-Dynacorn and get almost a complete car in boxes dropped off in your driveway for 4 figures.

Re: 67 or 68 in good condition

You are correct... That was a gross exaggeration in an attempt to get a chuckle. I base my experience on a couple of instances of buying West Coast cars with an East Coast DSO site unseen and getting burnt by believing the story that they were rust free because they only spent 2 seasons back east an...

Re: Buying advise on cars out of state

"Is someone going to come up with a computer program that will tell what sales tax is applicable to every physical address in the US?" Yes. We purchased said program and it is presently charging tax for 13 states with more to follow. What I did not realize is you get taxed on shipping also! We have...
