When I found my G ten or so years ago it was missing the fog lights. Over the years I picked up seven damaged and/or incomplete Square 8 Lucas fog lights in order to assemble one beautiful correct set. I had enough left over to put together a later (grey grommet) set. Sounds like your booster is bad. Did you get it at your local auto parts store? If so it was most likely rebuilt in Mexico and has a high rate of failure. We have US built ones that are top quality for $208.

Sounds plausible, just sold my only NOS door panels about a month ago or I would check for holes on them. See if the holes are present in your doors next time you have the panels off.
