Re: went to the track

Very true about parts changers. Invest in some sticky DOT drag tires, and once you know your timing and jetting are good, your 60' times should drop and be into 14s easily

Re: went to the track

Very cool. What was your 60' time? If your not making any more power above 4500, read a plug to check carb jetting. I ran into that problem with carb jets being off, car stopped accelerating at 1000' foot mark. Some carb jetting and timing dropped a half second off ET. The track isn't as easy as it ...

Re: Have you driven your Cougar today?

Went to one of the best shows in Connecticut tonight that had over 700 cars on a Monday night. We meet up with some friends and rolled in with the Eliminator, Shelby, and my buddy's 68 CJ mustang. Some rare cats were represented... 390 XR7G, SCJ Eliminator, and 71 429CJ XR7. http://i33.photobucket.c...

Re: Have you driven your Cougar today?

Went out for a burnout run today. Showing my boy the torque of a SCJ with 3 gear burnouts by just flooring it from idle in Drive.

Re: '69 GT500

Very sweet and congratulations on your purchase. Your story is very similar to mine. My dad bought a mustang new in 68, sold it in 72. Bought another 68 fastback in 77. While looking for mustang parts, came home with our first Cougar, 68 big block car. My brother and I both drove that Cougar as our ...

Re: 428 SCJ fan question

That would make sense then. The V code had the clutch fan and the W code had the direct fan. That is what I thought but I have been told otherwise and I couldn't find a reference to confirm. I have a V code so I put a clutch on the fan but I was being told that is incorrect. Unfortunately, I haven'...
