The kits were sold over the counter, so it is possible. But keep in mind it was a $550 option on a Shelby. So the odds of a dealer installing a Paxton kit on a car that was not already sold, resulting in a hefty price increase, would be harder to sell and they probably want make money on the install...

Cobra lettered air boxes were installed on 65-67 Shelbys. In 1968 Shelby sold over the counter Paxton kits, but with SHELBY lettered air boxes. Paxton sold kits over the counter with PAXTON lettered air boxes. Also it was very rare option on Shelby mustangs with only 11 produced in 66, and 35 in 196...

Yes 25 and older, my son’s foxbody is insured like that. We only drive to cruise nights and local shows and I let him drive and I am the passenger. Now he is going to be 21 in a few months and going to try to add to his own policy with his daily pickup, then he will be able to go solo.
