Is it fully latched in your photo, above? If so, then yes, you need to first check your hinges to make sure they're not worn, thereby causing the door to sag. Ask the adjuster about having the whole car painted. Hagerty specializes in classic cars, so they might understand better than a regular insurance company how with a custom paint job, there is no place to stop and have the paint really match. Lots of states suspend an uninsured driver's license if he/she causes damage in an auto accident. You may have to sue and get a judgment first, but the suspension does provide at least some incentive to pay

I wonder how that 16.5 quarter mile time compares to road tests by magazines back in the day. All of the tests I've ever seen focused (understandably) on GT's and GTE's.

Sweet! 16.5 with white walls is great in my book. Were you running race fuel? Next time, fill up with some 110 octane, bump the initial advance to 14-16 deg BTC and Let those J code high compression heads do their magic.
