Re: XR7-G Book

Phil,
I like the red, white and blue letters and the color of the XR7 G 8-) The only adjustment I can see is the fog lights look a little too skinny. Be nice to see the detail on the G scoop snorkels. It looks like a GT-E scoop.

Re: Club meeting May 20, 2018 in Missouri

You'll have to discuss joining the CATS club at the Abe Lincoln car show in Springfield ILL Aug 3-4. Melissa Shereda is doing a great job of getting a big pride of Cougars attending. She is setting up separate Cougar classes and CATS will be doing three top awards voted on by Cougar owner participan...

Re: Brackets and pulleys nightmare

Your trying to mix all kinds of ingredients in your pot of soup that isn't going to work :naughty: 71 302 that I took out of my 70 Cougar. I have a 3 bolt crank pulley C9ZE-6312-B and need to know what water pump pulley goes with it. You need a three groove water pump pulley. It will be a C9 number....

Re: 1971 Mercury Cougar Convertible 429-4V Cobra Jet Ram Air

The registry might be out of date. Mitch Lewis lists 16 model 92 J codes and Tom's Marti report says 18. Model 92 - Cougar Convertible J Code =16 6 - Trans = 16 6 - Bright Blue Poly = 8 M - White = 1 Color Unknown = 7 - 7 Early cars with incomplete data tag info but where serial numbers have been id...

Put some heat on it with a heat gun or hair dryer. 3-4” is a long way to go.

I think the 67 pinstripes are thinner and wider apart. But I don’t have any dimensions to share.

Re: Rear frame rail patch

I've replaced all the panels in the trunk area on a Cougar. But, I have never had to do a frame rail. Might want to contact KTL restorations for advise.

Can always check the Mustang boards as the process for a Mustang would generally be the same.

Re: Best way to clean up fuse panel connections

I've used muriatic acid with a Q tip to clean them. Then wash the acid off with degreaser/brake cleaner. Coat with some dielectric grease right away. Otherwise, they will flash rust again within a day. Unhook you battery cable first :hand:
