cougarrand thank you for the info. Both of your measurements say they are for the front. I'm assuming one of those is a typo and you meant to type rear for one of them.

Does anybody know what the factory ride height is for a 1970 XR7 and where it's measured from? Front measurement and rear measurement. I am thinking about replacing at least the rear leaf springs. From the first picture it looks like there is some separation in the leaf springs too indicating they may be shot. Some new springs might give you some lift.

#1 is your first concern. After you get it in the barn, if you can get it in the barn then you can worry about the other 2. I had the same problem with mine idling fine in park or neutral and dying when I put it in gear. It turned out the idle mixture needed some adjustment. Since that is what you messed with last, I am guessing that is your problem.
