Re: 1969 XR-7 “R Code” convertible at the Russo & Steele Auction - Scottsdale 1/18 or 1/19 - NO RESERVE

Hmmm.... might have to make a January escape from Duluth and come watch the auction. Been a few years since I've been there. And, the better half already asked if we're going this year, so that's like permission.

Any other blue chip Cougars going to be at the auctions?

Best of luck with the sale.

One stall is reserved for my wife's car. What would you do?
Explain to her that parking in the driveway means there's less snow to shovel.

Re: New Walking Cat Rubber Floor Mats

For what its worth, I tried dying a set of originals with vinyl dye. I scrubbed and scrubbed them, then used the vinyl prep spray, then the dye. This paint and prep was whatever brand John's sold 10 years ago. The rear and passenger mats held up well - with some, but not a lot, of passenger use. The...

Re: Can this be true?

Looks like a nice car. I sort of like the wood console - nicely crafted. Never seen a couple of the entries on the window sticker... "TECTYL" or is it TEOTYL. Also, "Left shift headlamps." Curious to what these may mean. I don't see where they claim it was factory conversion to RHD, unless that's wh...

Re: Antique Auto reproduction batteries..What is happening?

I just had my second Group 27F reproduction battery crap out.

Does the Miata battery give enough cranking amps for a big block? I haven't found anything else that fits inside the 27F case.

Re: Does Anyone Have a Library of late 80's CCOA Newsletters?

Karguy -

I can send you a PDF copy of the article if you PM me your email address. I don't have this issue for sale, but it is the Jan-Feb-Mar 1988 edition (vol. 9 No. 1) if that helps you track down one for sale.

Here's the picture from the article.

Re: I had to work on that door anyway...

Ouch.

I wasn't aware that doors were reproduced. Even if they are, I would insist on OEM parts (and your insurance/state law may give you that right).

Your comments, as I approach my early, late, middle 50s, remind me of one of my favorite verses of a song... Aging black leather and hospital bills, Tattoo removal and dozens of pills. Your liver pays dearly now for youthful magic moments, But rock on completely with some brand new components. How d...
