Re: 1969 Brake warning light always on

So I went to bleed the rear brakes and I opened the master cylinder and to my surprise there was no fluid in the small front compartment (rear brake reservoir). So I filled that up with fluid and proceeded to bleed the rear brakes. Didn't see any leaks and the fluid did not drain away after several...

Re: Brake master residual valve

Sounds like you’re making more progress than me. I am starting to think there is fundamentally something wrong with the pedal relationship to the booster due to RHD conversion. Pedal is now relatively high and firm but feels like no power assist. Booster passes tests in shop manual but brakes feel u...

Re: Brake master residual valve

Fronts both rebuilt. Huge improvement, pedal is decent and consistent. Only issue left to sort is now a very slow bleed from both rears. It was fine before I rebuilt the dist block which makes me think I should also have rebuilt prop valve. Either that or rear soft hose I guess. Does the prop valve ...

Re: Brake master residual valve

Time for an update. Not sure where those 2 months went! Put in new master and rebuilt the distribution block, this time putting in one of those bolts to hold the spool in place. Bled brakes and eagerly jumped in to test the pedal... exactly.the.same.as.before. Finally took some previous good advice ...

Re: Brake master residual valve

Hi Leon. I still have original booster/master placement on LHS of engine bay (our passenger side) so was able to use mustang master with outlets to fender side (ie standard configuration).

Re: Originality vs arning drop?

Thanks for the honest feedback everyone. Really easy to get caught up in the originality thing and forget why I actually bought it in the first place - driving!

Re: Originality vs arning drop?

Thanks Bill that is definitely the answer, just needed some encouragement! Have the export brace already, need to find a Monte Carlo bar that fits nicely.
