Repro wiring diagram

Anybody find these accurate? I like the look and color layout compared to the original wiring diagrams, but only if legit.

Also, would the wiring for an Eliminator better match the standard or XR-7 wiring?

Re: no start after driving

Bill - a silly question but when you say test "across connections" do you mean placing the two meter probes on each side of the "same" connection? Or at each end of a wire run? Thanks! Use your multi meter to look for voltage across connections. A perfect connection has 0 ohms resistance and there f...

Re: no start after driving

Everything is stock. I did notice that there was a ton of heat coming off the engine area when I popped the hood. Almost to the point where the hood latch was too hot to touch. Temp gauge said nothing unusual though, so I figured it was just my first time being around these old engines in a couple o...

Re: no start after driving

Ok, I'll be rechecking connections. Battery posts and clamps are perfectly clean, so maybe they were replaced by PO and not up to snuff size wise. I'd like to trouble shoot the system before throwing new parts at it blindly. Just starting to read about "heat soak". Seems like a good candidate given ...

no start after driving

Finally took the new girl out for a real drive. 4 miles to a fav watering hole. Come back out a short time later and she won't start!! Barely a crank. Crap. Bad battery or alt. Have to make the "call of shame" and have the wife come out to give me a jump. Of course she can't resist laughing a...

spare tire

So my 69 needs new tires including the spare. The current spare is full sized but not on styled wheel. So does this give me the option of a "donut" spare to save space and money? Anyone using donuts and if so what size? Or should I just stay with full size and use the wheel I have in the trunk? Sinc...

Proud new owner - 69 Eliminator

Finally took the leap of faith and brought home this 1969 Eliminator, 4-speed. Looking forward to going through it head to toe to see what needs to be done to ensure it is road-worthy. I'm seeing some cracking in the tires so that's probably step one! No idea how old these Firehawks are. She got her...

Re: Poll for fun to help me decide

I vote 'not rust'. Blue and Green are the two best 1970 Eliminator colors to me. If the 1970 has Decor interior, that is a positive. It really comes down to what you really want. Are these the only two Eliminators available right now? Not the only ones available, just what's close and in my price p...

Buy both. Swap the trannies and sell the orange Eliminator.
WA (wife approval) would be denied but that's some good thinking :)
