Re: Son's project, mom's help, #1: Trunk latch

West Coast Classic Cougar is great. Here is a video they made for just what you need! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2qvBUCNFf1I Also make sure anything you take apart put screws and small items in zip lock bags and label them. Probably the best piece of advice I can give someone just getting into ...

Re: Coug67

The 5.0 is now stripped down and at the machine shop for honing and new cam bearings/ crank polishing. The stock forged pistons are still good and the shop says the cylinder walls are ok. So no point in wasting good parts just to get a couple cubes from boring it. Hoping to make another trip to work...

Re: Coug67

I hate to hear about the starter/flywheel problems. I like the color change on the primer. Have you decided on the final color? Steven It is definitely a lesson learned. The car will be some sort of green. It came from the factory Lime frost. So I'd like to keep it some kind of green. More than lik...

Re: Coug67

Progress from the weekend. Pretty much finished roughing in a few areas and got this car in its first coat of real primer. Not the rattle can crap I've been getting by with. I can finally rest knowing the metal is now fully protected. I did not get to bring her home this last weekend. I knew I had a...

Re: Coug67

Well, It's been over a year. Still got the car. But have done very little to it since it has been out of town at my grandfathers shop. Making a trip up there to work on it this weekend. Hoping to bring her back because I now live in an apartment that has a 2 car garage. Feels good to have a place of...

Re: You're a car guy...

Haven't really had anyone ask me to help them with their car other than my brother and close family. All were just simple tasks. Brake jobs and what nots. But there is one time where I felt kinda cool. My best bud for the past 7 years or so got a new 2008 toyota tacoma. Always ran good never any pro...

Re: Compatible rear end?

Katnip302 (Gary) has two 9" from 69/70 Cougar I believe. In Indiana if memory serves and he doesn't want to ship but you might be able to work something out (Greyhound?). Not posi and not the gears you are looking for but both of those can be changed. The rear will fit lock, stock and barrel (I am ...
