Thank you all for the input. Car won't move until the steering and engine are installed.

Re: PS Control Valve replacement or rebuild?

mfc133,

Looks great. How much time did it take ( Im in no rush)? I checked the website out and think I may do it. Stupid question: If i pull the steering link will the wheels maintain there support position? The engine is out. I do not want the wheels to fold up under the fenders.

PS Control Valve replacement or rebuild?

I have removed my PS Control Valve and slave cylinder on my 69 XR7. The cylinder has a cracked head and 128564 stamp and the shaft appears to be bent - I will replace this part. The Control Valve has a Bendix stamp and visually appears okay. Should I replace the valve or attempt to rebuild it with t...

Emblem restoration

I am wondering what my options are for the plastic covering on the fuel door emblem? I also understand that the plastic on the pillar emblems can be sanded and buffed out - mine still have good color but the sun has crinkled the finish and they have yellowed slightly. What grit sand paper would you ...

Superbond, thank you for the reply - I thought I needed to rephrase the question. What are they actually called? Any other description would be great.

Re: 68 vinyl roof removal, again!

Wish I had a secret method to share. I removed the poorly installed vinyl on my 69 but there was not much bondo - just rattle can paint and several pin holes. The difficult part for me was removing the window trim. I did not replace the vinyl. Make sure there is some metal underneath the bondo!!! Go...

Snorkel Flapper Door Removal

I would like to remove the flapper door from my snorkel to clean and repaint. This is for a 351W in my 1969. Played with the hinge movement and found it a little stiff in spots. I removed the spring screw from the other end and figured I could remove the flapper to clean and repaint it and clean out...

Re: Snorkel door stuck open

I tried the heat gun on the flapper spring and it moved just a little. I pulled the spring and it curled into a brittle C. I will order a new spring. Played with the hinge movement and found it a little stiff in spots. I removed the spring screw from the other end and figured I could remove the flap...
