Re: no turn signal right side

Alex thank you. It turns out the issue was at the turn switch connector. The white/blue wire was not completely seated to the purple wire. Easy fix and very inexpensive. So if you reading this thread be sure to check all the connector pins.

Re: no turn signal right side

Thanks TomKat. It's a 68 XR7 and the link you suggested seems to somewhat agree:
"If there is no power on the purple and orange/green wire, the turn signal switch may be bad"

no turn signal right side

The right side turn indicator has no lights at all. Front is dead as well as rear. The is no light at the indicator also. Tried the flashers same result. I do have lights when the headlights are turned on. I checked for power to purple wire in the trunk and there is none. Am I correct in wanting to ...

Dave

I was talking about the exterior surfaces but appreciate your input. Sounds like you did a much more complete refurbishment than I plan on doing but now I thinking "Maybe just a little more detail". Thanks again.

'68 XR7 under dash color

I have out the glove box and ash tray and would like to freshen them up. Should they be a flat black or are they a semi flat black? TIA

Thermostat housing bolts

So after finally replacing the heater core in the '68 Cougar, with AC, I decided it would be nice to check if the car had a thermostat. I bought the car from an Arizona owner and she has always run cool. I was aware that these bolts can be problematic so I soaked them with Kraoil for a few days. Wel...

Re: Blown engine?

At the least a blown head gasket maybe more. If it's the "born with" engine I would be inclined to have it rebuilt; if not you'll have a big decision as to how many "ponies" you want to put under the hood.

Happy Birthday "NANNA"

The cougar was born 50 years ago yesterday. We bought her about 3 years ago to fulfill my wife's dreams. When she went to buy her first car, and the family's first car. there was a '68 Cougar on the floor. Unfortunately her mom thought the 4 door Comet would be more practical. Three ears ago I surpr...
