Re: 68 XR7 interior refresh Part - 2

Thanks Andrew, that’s the place I was thinking of. If it matters to you, I’ll be biting the bullet and sending them a set in the near future. I’ll play the role of guinea pig. Unless someone else here has already tried them. Hard to say from your picture how close it really is, but that looks a lot...

No problem! Hope you get that all figured out. The windows on these cars are kind of a pain.

Re: How do 67-68 vent window handles attach?

Is there any way to tell from the etching if it's tinted glass or not? There's a guy on the other side of town with a used driver vent window, but it has dark aftermarket tint film stuck on it, so I'm not sure how to tell if it is factory tint or clear. Look for "SUN X" in the etching - that means ...

Don't give up just yet on the vinyl woodgrain overlays. WCCC is working on a better pattern that is actually based on the original stuff. Not sure when they'll be available for purchase, but we have samples in hand and it looks very good. Here's a sneak peek: DSC00066-1028.jpg Critter Creek Cougars ...

Re: Did I miss the January auction stats?

No joke. I'm also a little worried about petroleum getting outlawed or heavily taxed in the future. I know it would probably take a long time for this to happen, but there's a lot of push for reducing or eliminating fossil fuels. Kind of a cognitive dissonance thing for me because I generally suppor...

Re: How do 67-68 vent window handles attach?

Honestly I would avoid the repro if you can. For one thing, it doesn't include the vertical "division bar" so you have to either reuse your old one or get a restored one so it matches the new shiny chrome. Secondly, the fit isn't great on the new ones. Thirdly, all the rubber pieces are sold separat...

Re: How do 67-68 vent window handles attach?

Question, can I get just the post or am I going to have to replace the entire vent frame? It sounds to me like yours is broken. If I remember right, that post is part of the frame and not detachable. And as you know, the glass is sandwiched into the frame with a rubber seal. WCCC does have the fram...

Re: GRILLE AND BEZEL PAINTING

Whether it's 100% correct or not, I like the Trim Black. Nice rich smooth black that contrasts well with chrome.

Re: How do 67-68 vent window handles attach?

There should be a built-in post on the window frame that the handle attaches to.

I dug around in my project photos and found this one that shows it, although blurry.

Re: Repainting after repairs - spots not whole car

Spot repairs can be done and look good if the body guy knows what he's doing. Ah, forgot an important detail... I would be DYI. Oh! Well, do you know what you're doing? Jokes aside, there are a lot of resources out there on how to do this kind of thing. Learn as much as you can, take your tim...
