Re: 67 & 8 wheels

Specialty Wheels was bought out by Wheels Vintiques after the owner of SW passed away, hence the decline in quality control. And yes the WV is the only manufacturer of the styled steel wheels. I hope they improve, as I'll probably want to go to the original style wheels at some point. For now I'm en...

Re: my wheels reconditioning project

Looks great! That’s one of those things when you start to wonder whether your time is really worthless or not 😅 I did a similar project restoring some Volvo alloy wheels. They came out great and I spent hardly any money, but a whole lot of time went into it.

Re: Different finish on a new Dynacorn part....

I've seen this finish on their parts before, I believe it's a weld-through primer. Mainly to protect the metal from corrosion and make it easy to weld in. I think you can paint right over it, but I'm sure others here have experience with it and can say for sure.

Nice! Just in case people want to look at other stores besides AutoZone, what is the application for the new switch?

Re: Movin' On, But Not Gone

Thanks again guys, I really appreciate all the kind words here! It's pretty satisfying to know that I've made some kind of impact on the community and hobby. It still feels weird to be "on the outside" now, but the projects I'm finishing up for WCCC make me feel like I'm still a part of it. Brian: t...

Re: The August 2019 Ride of the Month is Andrew Chenovick's '68 Standard "Snowball"!

Thanks Bill! And I also didn't notice for a while, for the same reason. Half the time I look at the forum from my phone, but it's a lot easier to type and upload photos from a desktop. Not sure what the best way would be to make the banner image show up on mobile, but your email idea isn't bad eithe...

Re: The Snowball Saga - '68 Standard Revitalization Project

Your Cougar looks amazing - great work. Your work inspired my son to repair his 1968 white XR7 as well. We did a roof replacement following your video, and it came out nice. His Cougar is also a black plate California car, in fact his license plate is very close to yours - so probably sold within a...
