Re: quarter window frame vivets

If you buy new rollers they come with the rivets, but they suck, and you have to drill and tap threads into them and attach them to the frames with screws. I did a series of pics of this in my project thread. Seems like the metal they used is too brittle and it just breaks when you try to peen it ov...

Re: '67 and '68 for sale in TX

Looks like they both have cowl covers, and it’s possible they are just a precaution to keep leaves and crap out when parked. Not sure.

Re: Tabco Quarters for a 1970

I've heard that they aren't quite right for either 69 or 70, they need some modification either way. Bummer, but at least there's something available.

'67 and '68 for sale in TX

Hey guys, these aren't mine but I'm trying to help out the owner, who isn't a web guy. His name is Hector and he's a Vet, now dealing with cancer and looking to downsize. He's in Texas (will find out what town, but his area code indicates way down in Southern TX near the border) and he has a couple ...

Re: 68 xr7

There is only one 390. The "6.5L" was a bit of a marketing ploy, the reality is that 390 cubic inches is actually equivalent to 6.39 liters.

I've heard of people using a 428 crank in a 390, that could be something to look into.

Anyway welcome to the forum and good luck with the project!

Re: '67 vinyl top trim holes?

Many people feel that a non-vinyl top car is more desirable, and would say "don't do it". Or find a car that was originally equipped that way. (Neither of which are very helpful to your question) That said, I may be able to take measurements on a car here at some point. Going out of town in a couple...

Re: Dash Face Pad Crack - Repair Ideas?

Another trick is to rub wax on the surface around the crack as the glue won’t stick to the wax. That's a great idea too. I think that's the biggest risk, getting too much glue in there and having it ooze out. Gonna have to be very surgical about this. I got two different "weights" of the ca glue, w...

Re: 1967 door striker plate screws

Luckily those special screws are available new, sold individually or as a set of 4.

I also learned about the "pozi" thing here, which I had never heard of. A big phillips screwdriver still works fine.
