Re: Easy Chrome

In the model car hobby we have started to use Molotow chrome paint and markers. Available at hobby shops, Michael's and online at Amazon.

It's a good, easy and durable way to paint chrome trim.

Re: PS Control Valve replacement or rebuild?

You can take out the hydraulic parts and leave the linkage in place. You just won't have any connection between the steering gearbox and the linkage. Rebuilding the control valve is not a big deal. Just follow the instructions and take your time. Best diagram etc is in the factory shop manual. One i...

With the lower argent silver paint, body moulding and upper body color combination, the vinyl top was just a bit much for my liking.
My thoughts exactly! It's like a 3-tone.
How about this?

Re: Engine bay color question.

Mine was built in Dearborn, not sure of the date. The upper part of the firewall and cowl were body color (Yellow). I painted the upper firewall and cowl with satin black when I refinished the engine compartment at the time I painted the car.

Are the backs of these similar to the factory styled steel wheels? (Big flat plate)

I would like to do something like this but they probably won't clear my (Granada) front calipers.

Re: 69 suspension mods

Sounds like you have a good handle on what needs to be done. I have had urethane strut rod bushings on my 69 XR 7 for many years with no ill effects. I have KYB gas shocks all the way around and they work fine. I put urethane bushings in the rear springs and added a 3/4'-inch rear anti-roll bar alon...

Re: Anyone ever use chrome paint?

For small areas you can use Molotow Chrome markers. A very bright shiny chrome finish with this product. You can get pens in three sizes and a refill bottle that can be poured into an airbrush and sprayed.
