Re: PS Control Valve Adjustment

Well, adjusting the nut hasn't fixed the problem. I suspect the spool must have a bur or some dirt on it that is causing it to bind in one direction. Re: Thermostat housing leak

Fel-Pro gasket and Gaasgacinch. Loop a rubber band through the basket handle on the thermostat and put a pencil through the ends to hold it in the housing until it is installed.

You use that with the gaskets?
Gasgacinch? Yes.

Only place to use RTV in these engines is at the corners of the intake and corners of the oil pan gaskets. Maybe a little at the edges of the rear main seal.

Re: 351 Cleveland water pump leaking

I wouldn't use silicone to seal a timing cover or water pump. A good gasket cement like Gasgacinch will work better.

Re: PS Control Valve Adjustment

You may have to disassemble the valve and clean up the spool a bit. I had a similar issue in my car and discovered that there were burrs on the edges of the spool, causing it to stick in the bore sleeves.. A few minutes with some emery cloth solved the issue.

Re: Aftermarket Rack and Pinion Steering

I have heard the same thing also, you're better off adjusting or replacing the steering box and/or new tie rod ends and so forth, or the Borgeson conversion, than to go rack and pinion. I installed a Borgeson OEM-style steering gear, keeping the original-style (Though rebuilt) control valve and cyl...

Re: Toggle switch function....

Not like the "ACCY" switch in the 69-70 XR 7?

I remember reading that some Aston Martins had a non-connected switch labeled "SPARE" to maintain symmetry in the dash design.
