Re: Precision Exhaust vs. Scott Fuller

I bought all 4 of Scott's hangers for my '70. May have doubled the car's value 8-)

Re: 67-73 Cougar Sequential Turn Signal Trouble Shooting Thread

Tinkered with it a bit more, suddenly the left center joined the party as well? But inconsistently. I started wiggling wires to see if anything was loose, and in the process wiggled the sequential box. Stuff started pouring out of the box, so I popped it open to find... I don't know, can anybody sp...

Re: XR7 Dash panels

I'd add from my experience with my (sadly departed) '66 GTO. Having a metal backing to the wood is a really good idea. Otherwise you'll eventually get warping from humidity changes.

Re: 1970 Decor Red DS Door Panel / NOS

I'd do the backstroke across broken glass all the way from Texas for that if it was white.

Re: Center caps won't fit

I used some 3/8" wheel spacers to solve that. Got them at Autozone. Been on for a couple of years now with no issues.

Re: Eliminators on the Market (May 2020)

If anyone is interested in the Yellow '70 in TX (0F91M510706), I drove and inspected the car on May 6th and would be happy to provide details. I also have some pictures of the details that would need attention to make it closer to correct.

Re: Inner frame and floor support rust

Eastwood offers a few products that will treat and coat inside frame rails. Me personally, i just cleaned as far inside as I could with wire wheel and wire brush to knock out all loose scale, hit it with ospho and then a coat of etching primer and rustoleum. Anything is better than nothing at this ...

Re: Pre buy gas at the cheap prices

I would have to drive over 200 miles to find any real gas. The EPA mandated crap they sell here has a relatively short shelf life without being treated. The cost of the treatments would defeat the savings unless gas went back up to the $4 range.

Re: Low hanging H Pipe

I was finally convinced to take mine to a muffler shop after futzing with the opposite problem. I forgot when I ordered my system that my T-5z conversion uses a different cross member than the FMX and needed the H pipe reworked. Local car club guys recommended a shop that fixed it in like 10 min.

Re: A mystery with my temp gauge

Finally got out for a drive. With the new sending unit and connector crimped a bit tighter, the reading came up closer to middle.

Temp readings with the infrared thermometer throughout the engine compartment seem normal so I’m going to leave it for now.

Thanks for all the advice.
