Re: Temp/Fuel Gauge

The original sending units for the temp gage work properly. New ones don't, they make the gage read too hot. If you have the original install it, otherwise Don Rush sells good used ones.

190-200 is perfect, exactly what you want.

Re: GateJob 68 funny car?

Neat piece of history. SOHC parts are expensive and rare! The car got a '70 Cougar body later on which explains why he had to make a new '68 body.

Re: Rear end leak and fluid question - Please help

Hard to tell but it looks to be leaking from both the main housing gasket and the pinion seal. The pinion seal normally goes bad because the pinion bearing is shot. At some point it needs to be taken apart and evaluated.

Re: G on ebay

It is a very good car, numbers matching, with the original Rader wheels and a documented power rear antenna installation. Mostly original paint and interior. A great driver. What's not to like at that price?

Thanks for the great write up Bill! since those photos were taken the car has been pin striped. Phil Parcells supplied photos that were a great help for that effort.

Re: 8-track rebuild (doing yourself?)

Rebuilding an 8 track radio is going to be the same as rebuilding any 1960's era electronics. You will need to replace all the old style capacitors with new ones of the same or very similar value. Then replace the transistors. Finally clean the head, and install a new belt. After that you could figu...

Re: 1967 standard non-console to console conversion

Personally I think the console gets in the way. It's a curse for any maintenance or repairs that have to be done, often the console must be removed first. Looks nice but function is not there unless you have an XR7-G or 69 - 73 with storage in the raised arm rest.
