I have often wondered what the guy I bought my '69 XR7 from would think if he could see her today. Here's the ad he placed back in 2000: https://www.rccinnovations.com/Extras/Cougarad/1969_XR-7_Utah I get calls from customers in Salt Lake City occasionally, and even swapped emails with a guy in West...

Re: New carb for 351C 4V????

After years of messing with Edelbrock, Demon and Holly carbs I finally installed a Summit M2008 series carb. Imagine if Holley and Autolite had a baby - the best features of both in one carb. You'd get the M2008. https://www.summitracing.com/search/brand/summit-racing/product-line/summit-racing-m200...

Re: I had to work on that door anyway...

Try Schreibers on Rt 107 in Fremont. He has a great reputation among 'old car' guys in the area. We we going to take Dad's '66 Mustang there for touch-up and repaint, but he decided it really didn't need it. I would have brought my '69 XR7 to him but he was only part time & way too busy back then. h...

Re: Two more 68 Convertibles have surfaced

I have about 30 pictures of Rex's roadster I took at the 2005 Nationals in Dallas. They were taken with a 36MM SLR and I had the film put on disc so they are not as sharp as today's cellphone pictures, but you are welcome to them if you want. I have some of Eric's models with the car, Rex's photo al...

Re: Fuel Sender

Believe it or not, my LF light issue was a low battery. Everything worked independently but not together. Stuck a battery charger on & the light came on. Went off after the 1st 5 gallons were poured in. Unfortunately the the sender shows 1/3 tank when full. No resolution in sight so I am putting my ...

Re: Burnt wire from starter solenoid to left of fuse panel

Yup, on a 68 that is the main power feed. Inside the car it splits to feed the fuse block, ignition switch and headlight switch.

Re: Burnt wire from starter solenoid to left of fuse panel

What year and model (standard, XR7)?

Most likely it is the main power feed to the interior of the car. This wire feeds the ignition switch, accessories, lights, etc. If it's melted you have/had a bad short somewhere and need to find and repair it before replacing the burned wire.
