Re: The Snowball Saga - '68 Standard Revitalization Project

Fantastic, Andrew, it really looks great. (I'm hoping you'll be pinstriping, too, but that's just me.)

Re: Yellowtop coil & lead wire "gee whiz"

Thanks for the response, Royce. I may have been unclear - I meant the primary from coil to distributor, just a single wire. I've only found these: https://www.ebay.com/itm/302419083586/?vectorid=229466&item=302419083586%2F&rmvSB=true https://www.ebay.com/itm/132423302033?vectorid=229466&item=1324233...

Yellowtop coil & lead wire "gee whiz"

My Cougar has been having some emission problems and I decided -along with some other things- to work on the ignition system. As far I know, it's all basically stock, with some standard maintenance item replacements over the years. I ordered up some parts prior to tear-down and discovered that the p...

I'm Ok with giving the honor to Melissa & Ray. My Cougars are a live and well and can compete another month. There Cougar will soon be parted out and not compete as it is again.

Re: 1967-68 Dash Speaker

I'll finish with a brief review of the radio install. I opted to upgrade to a modern DIN-style radio for a couple reasons. First, it has bluetooth capability (nice for music and hands-free telephone), and, second, I already owned it (for/from another vehicle)! The hands-free speaker came with a smal...

Re: 1967-68 Dash Speaker

OK, so I just realized I never followed up this little project thread. Here goes. I opted for Custom AutoSound's 5x7. Here are some dimensional photos, which confirm a true 5" x 7" at the face of the speaker. The frame and mounting tabs extend modestly beyond 5x7. CA_long.jpg CA_short.jpg CA_depth.j...

Re: dash speaker mounting question

Glad you found my earlier post useful. Re-reading it just now, I guess it would be good to add what I finally did, which I'll do shortly. It will include a photo of the dash, from below, sans speaker and showing the mounting bolts (though I didn't record what size they are). Cheers,
