Maybe a pop up for unregistered viewers that says " new to forums? click here for instructions" Kind of like the ones that ask for you to join their email lists.
You must really be getting fed up with all those emails to suggest a pop-up. :)

Judging by the quotes, maybe change "FAQ" to "Frequently Asked Questions" to get better visibility/intuition? Just a thought...
Or maybe just change "FAQ" to "Help."

Re: How do we help folks that don't know how to use a forum?

It's not perfect, but there's always the FAQ. Of course, judging by the emails you've received, the users in question may not know what a FAQ is, or don't notice the link to it in the navigation menu.

Excellent! I'll leave things as they are and see if anyone has an issue.

Re: Posting error

Okay, we're back on PHP 7.2 with the code fix that the developers are including in the next version of the Forum software. Please try to reproduce the warning and see if it's fixed. Thanks!

Yes, I was getting it consistently this morning.
Congratulations! Since I can't reproduce it, you have officially become the designated guinea pig. :)

Re: Posting error

I can't duplicate the warning you're getting, but I can imagine it's very annoying. I've reverted the Forum to PHP 7.0, which won't throw the warning, until I see if the developer responds.

Re: Posting error

Just did it to me again!!!! I see that; this time it triplicated your post. Is that a word? I removed the two extras. The only thing I see different about your posts is that you included an internal link, like this one: https://classiccougarcommunity.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=8901&p=89824#p8977...
