Re: 71 Cougar Power Window stoppeed working

1st I would make sure the "lock" switch hasn't been activated on your main PW control. Yes there is a fuse so you might as well check them all. Below is an invaluable tool from the folks at WCCC, and its free. Will show all your electrical connections and locations. https://secure.cougarpartscatalog...

Re: 72 speedometer cable replacement

If the 72 is like the 73 you can remove the speedo cable from the IP without removing the dash. Its not fun but it can be done. When I removed my dash and IP neither the cable nor the main harness had enough slack to remove or reconnect with the IP removed :smoke:

Re: 71-73 Owners - 'three wire' clock?

Thanks for the clarification. As I said, even though it irk's me its not enough that I sent it to you as a possible repair for 50. I know I sound cheap but there are other things i'd rather spend the cash on, and you asked for honest input. :smoke:

Re: 71-73 Owners - 'three wire' clock?

Cost would be the deciding factor for me, although it irk's me the clock isn't working I still wear a wristwatch, upgraded the stereo that has time display and of course have a smartphone. Would you use a provided core with the stock hands, and the chrome center cap? :smoke:

Sounds like your loosing power somewhere if they work in accessory position.

See if the below helps your voltage checks :smoke:
