Re: Buying advise on cars out of state

Catsrock, you may be able to get a refund from the seller's state to keep it from being double taxed. One word of caution - the tax rates don't enter into it so don't make the decision based on what the lower rate is. You have to determine where the taxable transaction occurred and that's what sets...

Re: Buying advise on cars out of state

Thanks all for the advice! For those that have done the out of state purchase, how did you handle payment? All upfront prior to delivery? I FedEx'd a cashiers check to the seller, had him FedEx me the title and put a copy in the glove box for transport. The Tax guy brings up a good point, I have ne...

Re: Buying advise on cars out of state

I would check with your state DMV on registering cars bought with a bill of sale. I have read that some states on cars prior to the mid 70's didn't issue titles, only bill of sale. I have seen some cars listed as "bill of sale" in some states with that reason given. Some state DMV websites let you d...

Re: Fuel guage and temperature guage not working

First thing I would do is ground both leads (fuel&temp) to verify wire harness isn't issue. Not for nothing but sometimes new equipment isn't as reliable as we like to think. :smoke:

Re: location of sequential flasher can

Keep us posted on your progress, i'm sure someday in the future i'm gonna upgrade my 73. I'm not sure what you mean by the "ER flasher", If you mean emergency / 4 way flashers thats what you replaced old part 16137 with new part 12827. If you still have issues after checking grounds and such i'd rea...

Re: location of sequential flasher can

If your doing the kit from WCCC, the new unit part # 12135 replaces the unit in the trunk, new unit part # 12827 replaces unit behind radio. The behind radio location is an general location comment look to the left and right of the radio location. On my 73 old part # 16137 was attached to the harnes...

Re: New carb for 351C 4V????

I'll agree with Neal, you shouldn't need anymore than a 650. I went with a Holly but everyone has their preferences so i won't say one is better than the other. Just wondering, did the old owner also swap the manifold too? Since you already have an appointment with the tuner see what they have to sa...

Re: Drivers mirror

From the WCCC link :smoke:

This plastic fastener is used to keep your mirror cable from interfering with the movement of your door glass. It is located at the front of the door near the top.

I feel your pain, I haven't found any tricks, #8 is the hardest for me, then #4 and then 7 so I start at the firewall first :smoke:

Baby Cats at Cecil this weekend

Caught 2 racing, Jeff Hall's 68 running pro street dialed a 12:40 and Ray Goelz 69 in the 10.0 class. Nice to see some cats at the track :smoke:
