Re: 68 R Code

I see you're using a 3M product. I've found if they make a product it's usually the best of it's type. Other companies make good products to be sure but with 3M you're pretty safe. And it's all so simple-just follow the directions.

Re: Scam call? Seems likely...

If you bail out don't worry about it.If Ford made 1 dark ivy gold interior they probably made another one and it's out there-somewhere. That 390 engine I'm involved with is coming to my house tomorrow and if it doesn't sell by mid November it's going right back to the in-laws.A guy can only have so ...

Re: Scam call? Seems likely...

You know I'm going through the same thing in a way as an in-law trying to help the mother-in-law sell off truck parts and a brand new rebuilt high dollar 390 engine. The big dollar item is that engine and as far as all the other new parts for that truck, of which there are many, they're probably hea...

Re: New carb for 351C 4V????

I'll chime in once more- Make sure all your fuel lines are clear and compatible with today's gas, especially the 3-4 inch length line from the gas tank sending unit to the hard line . If that line is old it will collapse on the inside and make the engine seem to "suck air". This is often overlooked ...

Re: New carb for 351C 4V????

Just slow down and take a deep breath. Get that car to someone who knows what they're doing. Royce is correct in that perceived carb problems may be traced to ignition bugs. He's quite knowledgeable so follow his advice.Go through all systems with a fine toothed comb before you spend any amount of mo...

Re: New carb for 351C 4V????

For all around performance hi-po street use Edelbrock carbs are excellent if everything is proper.Get a filter in front of that carb between the pump and carb, get that mess straightened out and all tuned up and you'll be fine. I have 2 Edelbrocks on 351Ws and they work great. Now if you want to run...

Midlife-You are absolutely correct. My alignment guy that I went to forever just closed shop to retire.

Re: Gas Backsplash When Filling Tank

On our 2 '69 Cyclones and the '69 XR-7 I've never had any problems filling the tank either. Fact of the matter is I've never had trouble putting gas in any car.Just insert the nozzle and pump away.
