The bottom picture shows the spring sitting on the perch and the spring appears to have very little tension on it. If you remove the wiring harness you can clean it with a toothbrush and full strength Simple Green or a like product that is mild so as to not remove any colors on the wiring. I've run distilled water ,50/50, with anti-freeze for years on engines w/aluminum heads and manifolds and have had no problems The current labels say something to the effect that the 50/50 mix will work in any car. I should've said take a rear wheel off if you have a center cap that bolts on from the inside.Otherwise just take off the hubcap/centercap.

Take a rear wheel off . Look at the end of the axle at the spot the brake drum slides over. 28 spline=a large scallop right in the middle. 31 spline= 3 drilled holes visible.Either the center is larger than the outboard holes or opposite than that. That Eastwood paint you're referring to works very well indeed. As far as rattle can paints they have some good stuff.
