Add-the car we had was sold new @ Kitchen-Boyd L-M in Bakersfield,Ca.by the same salesman that sold our '69 Dan Gurney Special Spoiler to the original owner.K.-B. long ago absorbed by Jim Burke Ford in Bakersfield.
I thought the license plate help might as we had the black and yellow plate on ours.

I believe that alternator will work as I have one on a 351W. You'll have to find an auto electrical repair shop and have the unit clocked i.e. broken apart and move the back piece in relation to the front so as to move the connections where clearance is needed. The bottom picture shows the spring sitting on the perch and the spring appears to have very little tension on it. I would suggest you lean over the radiator and with your wrench and go ahead and loosen that compressor. If the spring is on the perch it's probably seated properly into the upper insul...
