Re: Cleaning out a cowl vents

Remove the windshield wipers, unbolt the cowl panel, and vacuum them out.

Re: 1970 with tilt and cruise?

Yes, it's an aftermarket cruise kit. Cruise control wasn't on the option sheet for a Cougar in 1970 but I suppose it could have been added by the dealer.

Mike and Jeff have it narrowed down to within a two week period in posts 2 and 3. Assuming they are built at the same plant.
Yep. Between the 2nd and 3rd weeks of October is when the change would have occurred. October 6th was a Monday in 1969 and October 17th was a Friday.

One question, does the tilt away column matter when looking for a trispoke or is it a generic piece for any 69 steering column?
The steering wheel is the same, regardless of whether you have a tilt column or not.

Mine was built 10-17-69 and has bolt in glass. If it makes a difference, I also have power windows.

Re: The Snowball Saga - '68 Standard Revitalization Project

I ran into a problem removing the back valance. How the back do I get access to the two main end bolts you show in your fine photo?? I looked underneath and not sure what to do. Thanks much, Welcome to the site. The two end bolts go through the lower quarter and there is a nut on the back side. Rea...

Re: Red GT-E - Mecum Indy - May 2018

Jim is normally at Prowl so he may have the chance to look it over in person and verify once and for all if this car is a real GT-E or not. John Benoit will also be there. If these two can't verify its pedigree, I doubt anyone can.
