..., then start with 4 qts. start engine check fluid and add until checks between low and full, check again when hot.
Guess that's why some say 4 qts and some say 5 qts

I have an ulterior motive in that 5qts is 4.7litres and Type F comes in 4 litre containers

FMX Fluid Capacity - Pan Only

Hi

Just had the FMX out to fix leaking seals. There are some conflicting info about the pan capacity - 4 or 5 US quarts

Is Mark Piechowski still around so can get the correct answer and buy the right amount of liquid gold

Thanks

The LF prove out was on the starter side of the solenoid. If it was on the battery side the LF warning light would be lit

I don't know, it might be very fitting. Lucas is well know, especially in England, as the "Prince of Darkness".
1950's Lucas and BMC Lucas wasn't too great. Positive earth cars were the main culprit

Re: Lucas fog lights ID help requested.

I ran Lucas square eights on many cars for years without any problems (excluding smashed lenses). They were great fogs on our rally cars as they didn't take up much room. Still have about six sets (used) in the cupboard(most are black plastic units). Putting the current through switches without rela...

The originals were also rubbish if you tried to hub balance them. Had to be stud balanced. Real pain trying to find a shop with a stud balancing unit
