Re: Torque Box - evaluation

In situation like yours with my rear torque boxes, I opened them from the bottom to find out that it was the only portion (bottom) that was rusted, so I cut the rust out and welded patches. That was just fine for a street driver.

Re: '69 351W Pulley Question (Running Out of Options)

UPDATE ... The needle in the dash now sits just above the 1/2 way mark for a while, but once the car starts driving and sits at a red light long enough (city traffic), the needle again starts to creep up until its almost at the red. For me that's a lot of movement just for sitting... ... the fan si...

Re: Gauge Problems

That makes me think of intermitent current failure from ignition switch to cluster. When ignition switch is off (car not running), instruments in the cluster do not work nor the signal direction but cluster lights will illuminate if you pull the lights knob. This is similar to what you observe when ...

Re: Hot Start Long Crank

Interesting, would be cool if they made the higher octane 100% fuel w/o ethanol, but doubt that would happen. I too think this will not happen... at the end of fourth last paragraph of this article, it is written that one way to increase octane is to increase the amount of ethanol... just the oppos...

Re: Hot Start Long Crank

Sorry to dig up an old thread but I thought this was worth mentioning. I just tried one of those thermal spacers to fix my hot start issue and it 100% works. Normally I would have to floor the pedal to get the motor to start when hot. With the spacer installed, I just tap the key no throttle and it...

Re: Strumming rhythmic vibration...

That remembers me of last year when I had a vibration come and go like that, not to the extent to shake the seat but enough to be noticed. Then one day the transmission mount broke and needed to be replaced: no more vibration thenafter... There are so many possible causes!

Re: Power Steering freezing up

Never seen my slave cylinder behave like that, the hydraulic shaf should stay attached to the frame rail and enter in the cylinder when the wheels are turned this way.
