Re: Treating inside of door - advice appreciated

I spray anti-rust mineral oil (same grade as used for annual treatment from well known supplier of such service in Quebec Canada) and I repeat every 2 years, at fall time just prior to the winter storage. Excess that leaks through bottom holes of the doors is easy to wipe off. Since my Cat spent its...

Re: Re: 70 Turn Signal Right Turn Cancels and Sets Left Signal

I had same issue few years back and it eventually became impossible to shift the handle to indicate a right turn.
When I replaced the TS switch, I could not see any broken part, so it had to be in the internals. I wish you the best of luck if you decide to take it apart!

Thank you guys, someone (other forum) suggested a stuck bypass valve under high pressure, makes a lot of sense to me. Here is my answer:

Power steering pump froze tonight

New pump installed at beginning of summer. Worked great till it froze tonight while I was on a full right turn out of a street parking. I was barely moving as it was very tight to get out of there and I could ear the noise the pump normally makes in such situation. Then all the sudden it froze with ...

Re: Turn signals

It is 15 Amp. fuse #1 (upper left corner in the box).
Fuse box is located in the car close to or on the firewall, above accelerator pedal.
See file include, scan of my owners manual, written in French but I translated few lines pertaining to your search.

Re: 67-73 Cougar Sequential Turn Signal Trouble Shooting Thread

Thanks Vic for this very precise and informative answer: I understand NOW how it is possible for the right brake lights not to work even after TS problem is resolved on this side... BUT I am certainly not going to try to fix that bar at this point in time, especially knowing you tried yourself witho...

Re: 67-73 Cougar Sequential Turn Signal Trouble Shooting Thread

Ok in the mean time I took a look at the TS switch and just could not see any sign of melting... but I could see that the contact at the orangae/blue wire was kind of loose so I could make it work playing with it, then secured it a good position where it works. The only 2 thing left that do not work...

Re: 67-73 Cougar Sequential Turn Signal Trouble Shooting Thread

Re: 1970 standard convertible ... Switch replacement is the best solution. I hope it is a tilt column, because a good reproduction standard column switch is still not available. The older Scott Drake imported switches, with steel rivets, will last less than 10 minutes before they release the magic ...

Re: 67-73 Cougar Sequential Turn Signal Trouble Shooting Thread

Ok one more that just started today... 1970 standard convertible Lights OFF: No brake lights and no TS on right side only. Left side OK. Right front and side markers (front & rear) illuminate but do not flash. No power from the front (TS switch I guess) in orange/green and blue/white wires. Hazards ...

Re: Have you driven your Cougar today?

I took mine to the end of the driveway yesterday to take a couple of pictures https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1764/42546218004_c972d845dd_o.jpg I know it wasn't very far, but it's the first time in about 15 years it's moved under it's own power. I've still got work to get it road worthy, but getting...
