The proverbial boat anchor! I have a hard time selling them for $40.
Hmm, that is only about 50 cents per pound.

Looking at the background in the picture it's not an original detroit Cougar.

Re: Why you don't use a 50 year old fuel tank

That was a 1970 California emissions fuel tank. The only replacements are the 22 gallon 1970 tank or the 20 gallon 1969 tank. You will need to get the corresponding fuel filler neck, for which ever one you select.
Fuel line from tank to fuel pump, should also be on your list.

Generally 1968 engine bays will not have welded wrap around shock tower brackets, unless it is a mid-year big block car. All 1969-70 Mercury Cougars did have the extra braces welded-in from factory (they are different between the years though). The diagonal shock tower braces to the firewall are dif...

Re: Cougar by the numbers

Some Deluxe Marti Reports show that information. Dave Wyras and or Mike Banks might have those numbers. As a side note, I know that there were 53, 1969 R code XR7's that had the drag pack option. Was not broken down by V or W though. You can request a Marti Report with specific questions for your El...

Re: Cougars on Barn Find Hunter

I knew at the beginning of the video that it would be Alex, as soon as they said San Diego. For years, he and I used to frequent many of the same wrecking yards. He must have been one of the last persons to get a computer. When we would meet up at Pick-a-Part, I used to ask him if he was on eBay yet...
