#s matching

Make your Cougar run faster, handle better, and jump higher... okay maybe not jump higher. If you feel the need for speed, this is the place.

You have a 70, right? Check the backside of the driver side cyl head, or the front side of the passenger side cyl head. It will have the last five numbers of the vin.

Numbers matching means different things to different people. Always ask a person who uses that term in a for sale or some one looking to by what they mean when they use those words. Sort of like terms like "restored", "rebuilt", ...........

If I remember correctly that would not be numbers matching. That engine was removed from a Ford product since the serial number starts with a 1. The serial number for Mercurys start with a 5.
