Carpet insulation

Want to replace the carpet in my 1973 convertible. Looking at ACC raylon "mass backed" carpeting. Said to have a 40 mil ethylene vinyl acetate backing included on the underside of the carpet. I want to keep weight down so don't care to reuse heavy asphalt style insulation. Also expect to get floors wet now and then and want to allow carpet to dry out without trapping water on the floorboards (original, no rust). Sound is not a big issue since wind noise of convertible overpowers radio and I am not an audiophile.

Seeking recommendations for underlaying carpet: Nothing, Thermotec, jute, Home Depot floor foam, etc. THX
