1969 428 C.J. complete runnig numbers matching engine

I am restoring my 1967 Mercury Comet Cyclone (I own a restored Triple Black Cougar XR-7 M-Code H.T.) and the good fortune have this great engine come installed in Cyclone with the original matching 390 engine supplied to complete deal. The 428(Build date late September 1968) even has the original Holley carb which I had restored and verified by a East Coast Carb shop that does superior work. Approximately what is a fair price for this motor complete including exhaust manifolds when I decide to sell?

I think $8K - $10K is the high number, guy has to have it bad price. The sell it by the end of the month price is more like $6K - $7K. Presuming that it is carburetor to oil pan, with water pump / front cover / correct chrome valve covers / carb spacer / PCV but no smog.

Might want to get the VIN off the engine and post it over on the CJ site. Might have someones motor that would like to reunite them.

I've parted out three 67 comets in the past few years and I have an abundance of parts for this very difficult to restore car. Let me know if there's anything you need for your Cyclone restoration. Ray 248 867-3522

The 67 Cyclone is pretty complete and rust free and white w/ original red interior but may need minor items. Thanks

Thanks for your input on this. Not ready to part with 428 motor until I perform a full restore to original rare car. Enjoying as nice extremely fast driver for now.

Should also share the VIN here as plenty of Cougars donated their motors to other cars.

This 428 C.J. Engine came from a 1969 Mustang from debt owed in1971 to owner of 1967 cyclone GT. The family of 69 Mustang was offered the 428 engine back at fair price $7000.00(they still have Mustang but would not pay up???) before I purchased complete package with original 390 engine. I was lucky on this deal! So rest assured this motor did not come from one our beloved Cats!
